The Tema Community Basketball League offseason continues to provide a lot of talking points as teams continue to trade for players setting up for a 2020 titanic campaign.
In the wake of trades by Spintex Knights, Tema Community 4 Basketball Club has followed suit and signed Power Forward/Center Mustapha Ahmed Salim.
Ahmed played in the 2019 campaign for Tema Heat before switching to Tema Community 4; this is the team’s first signing in the offseason.
The start date for the 2020 campaign is still up in the air due to a ban on contact sports that stems from the corona virus spread in Ghana. At the time of writing, there are over 10,000 cases of infection in the West African nation.
Ahmed is an athletic player who excels in rebounding, blocking shots and scoring inside the paint; he has an improving three point shooting stroke. Ahmed’s signing comes in the wake of two exits from C4 including Small Forward Muhaimin “Astro” Guba.
The 2017 League Champions lost in the second round of the 2019 playoffs to Spintex Knights.
