Nungua Coldstore Power Forward Kwame Boamah Djan says he understands why Joel Tham left the team for Spintex Knights Basketball Club.
He said this in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com after Tham’s switch which caught many in Ghana’s basketball circles by surprise.
After stating he wasn’t surprised by the move unlike many, he went to express what he believes as factors that led to Tham’s departure to the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League debutant.
“I understand that he (Tham) has played countless and memorable games with Thomas (Amediku) so it is ideal for him to join his bestie, friend and Coach on another team” he said.
Tham led Coldstore to clinch the 2019 Tema League at the expense of Knights in the Finals series and the Point Guard walked away with the league’s Most Valuable Player Award.
He is one of three signings Knights have made this offseason; Small Forward Muhaimin “Astro” Guba and Amediku have joined Spintex for the upcoming campaign.
Guba played for Tema Community 4 last season.
