Amoafo

Ghana Power Forward Maxwell Amoafo has taken a swipe at folks who celebrate ethnic diversity but don’t address ethnic diversity Basketballghana.com gathers.

He did so via his official Twitter page as he joined others to protest against the unfair treatment by whites towards people of colour.

The death of African American George Floyd in Police Custody in Minneapolis in the US sparked the protests that have taken place in cities all over the world. Floyd died after a white Police man knelt on his neck for eight minutes.

Amoafo stated on Twitter, “To celebrate diversity and not address the disparity is hypocrisy”; the statement was attached to photos of Amoafo holding a placard that read “Black Lives Matter”.

The University of Saskatchewan Forward is preparing for his fourth and final year with the Huskies and averaged 6.4 points and 7.6 rebounds last season.

He is an Arts and Science Major and won the Sprite Ball Championship with Mfantsipim School during his time in Ghana.
