Basketballghana.com can confirm the remainder of the 2019-2020 NBA Gatorade League (G-League) season has been cancelled after a long suspension.
The league was suspended in March over fears of the corona virus spread that has infected over 100,000 people in the United States of America.
The news officially announced by League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim who stated “While canceling the remainder of our season weighs heavily on us, we recognize that it is the most appropriate action to take for our league” according to ESPN.
This means Ghana Center Amida Brimah won’t compete this season officially despite optimism he could return to play this season after undergoing surgery for an ACL tear prior to the start of the campaign in 2019.
Brimah is on the books of Fort Wayne Mad Ants after spending time with the team’s NBA affiliate Indiana Pacers; the Accra born player was one of final cuts to the Pacers team.
The 6 foot 10 inch defender won the 2014 National Championship during his time at University of Connecticut and has spent two seasons in the G-League with Austin Spurs.
