Federation Reps recieve items from the Rebecca Akufo-Addo Foundation

After so many years of neglect, the Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation (GWBF) is finally getting the response it has lacked in previous times.

The Federation has recently received donations to aid its fight against the corona virus spread in the country which has over 8,000 cases of infection at the time of writing.

In early May, the Federation was presented with bags of rice, cooking oil and nose masks by Ghana’s Paralympic Committee during a partial lockdown in the nation’s capital and other major towns.

Earlier this week, the Rebecca Akufo-Addo Foundation presented boxes of hand sanitizer, bags of rice, cleaning detergents and nose masks to the Federation.

The Foundation was founded by Ghana’s First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo and the donation came within 48 hours of formal request from the Federation.

Unlike previous years that had the Federation miss out on honouring international competitions due to unheard calls for financial assistance, recent events could be indicative of a change in the near future.
