Basketballghana.com gathers Spanish Basketball League (Liga Endesa) outfit Coosur Real Betis is interested in signing Ghanaian born French player Billy Yakuba Ouattara.
Sportando Basketball and Basketball ACTU reported the news.
The 28 year old Shooting Guard played the past couple of seasons for French Pro A side Monaco; the 2019-2020 season got cancelled due to the corona virus pandemic that hit Europe really hard.
Ouattara guided Monaco to first place in the French League standings on the back of 21 wins and four losses in 25 Regular Season games prior to the cancellation.
He averaged 11 points and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 41.8% from three point range in the past campaign; he also averaged nine points and 3.1 rebounds for Monaco in the EuroCup which is the lower tier continental competition.
Coosur Betis largely struggled last season in the Spanish league as the team ranked 15th in the 18 team standings with a record of eight wins and 15 losses.
Signing Ouattara would be a major scoop for the side in this offseason. Ouattara was born in Tepa in Ghana’s Ashanti Region and has featured on Brooklyn Nets roster in his career and has represented France at the junior and senior levels.
