Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana’s Paralympic Committee has donated assorted items to the Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation.
The items were donated to the Federation to aid its fight against the corona virus that has hit Ghana hard with over 5,000 persons infected at the time of writing.
Secretary General of the Paralympic Committee Peter Adjei made the donation to Secretary General of the Wheelchair Federation, Wilson Agbesi.
“It is in view of these challenges the President thought it wise to lobby for relief items to support all Associations and Federations under the NPC and out of this the positive initiative they have been able to secure some few items and have decided to share it fairly among the Associations and the federations based on the membership strength of the Association in the Country” Adjei said.
The items donated include rice, oil and nose masks to Agbesi who opined the gesture came at a crucial time as the Federation grapples to protect its stakeholders including players.
Samson Deen is the Paralympic Committee President.
