Ghanaian-Italian Shooting Guard Awudu Abass is in line to return to action in the Italian Serie A Basketball League later this year Basketballghana.com can confirm.
The 2020-2021 season will commence on September 27 following the cancellation of the 2019-2020 season due to the widespread of the corona virus.
The past season was over the halfway mark prior to the abrupt suspension and subsequent cancellation of the campaign in April.
Abass played his second season in a row for Germani Brescia in the truncated league season averaging 14 points and four rebounds per game.
Brescia’s record stood at 14 wins and seven losses in 21 games and ranked third in the standings behind Virtus Bologna and Sassari. Bologna had 18 wins and two losses.
The future of Abass-born to a Ghanaian father in Italy-is up in the air since he is being courted by Bologna and a handful of clubs outside Italy.
He has represented the European nation at the juvenile and senior levels winning the Under 20 European Championship.
