The Kenya National Men’s Basketball Team has donated items to a Basketball Academy in the country Basketballghana.com can confirm.

The donation was made to the Slums Dunk Basketball Academy in Mathare in the East African country’s capital, Nairobi recently in the wake of the corona virus pandemic.

Members of the National Team donated food items to the Academy that caters to children in deprived areas in the capital through basketball and life skills education.

Due to lockdown measures, several families in such areas have had a hard time feeding themselves with no access to work due to the restriction of movement.

The partial lockdown is a preventive measure to stop the spread of the corona virus in Kenya that has infected 912 people at the time of writing.

The donation was in partnership with the Desmond Blacio Foundation; a similar donation was made earlier this month to the DIWOPA Kayole Basketball Community.
