The maiden season of the Western Basketball Association (WBA) League was just two rounds of games from completion before the corona virus hit Ghana.
The virus has infected over 5,000 people in the West African nation and has forced the league’s suspension until further notice since March 15.
The spread of COVID 19 led to Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo to ban all social activities in the country including sporting events and competitions.
However, with the ban expected to be lifted on May 31, the league is likely to be the first to conclude with just a handful of fixtures to be completed.
Like the WBA League, the GSP and Accra Basketball Leagues are still suspended with the GSP League just clear off the midway point in the campaign.
On the other hand, the Accra League 2020 season commenced little over a week before the suspension took effect.
The likes of Takoradi Technical University (TTU) Oilers and Oil City Kings are in contention for the title.
