2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I Most Valuable Player Award winner Suleman “Big Tyme” Abubakar is using his time off basketball to train on his own Basketballghana.com can confirm.
He said this in a recent interview as he and other stakeholders in Ghana’s most prestigious club competition continue to wait for a ban on social gatherings to be lifted.
The ban was put in place in March by the nation’s President Nana Akufo-Addo to halt the spread of the Corona Virus; over 5000 people have been infected at the time of writing in the West African country.
“Sitting at home and not playing because of the ban…I am using this opportunity since there is no social gatherings to do personal training in order to stay in shape” he said.
Abubakar starred for Braves of Customs as the team clinched another ABL title thanks to a 2-1 series win over Adenta Leopards.
The 2020 season opener had the two teams square off with Braves walking away with another win prior to the suspension of the league due to the ban.
