Reports reaching Basketballghana.com indicate the Greece A1 Basketball League has been cancelled over fears of the COVID 19 spread; affecting Ghana’s Ben Bentil.

The 2019-2020 Regular Season was nearing an end prior to the suspension of the league due to the pandemic that has swept through the world and caused major damages in several sectors.

The sports industry has been hit pretty hard by the virus with several competitions across several sports disciplines cancelled or suspended.

Bentil plays for continental giant Panathinaikos after transferring from fellow Greek side Peristeri GS in the 2019 offseason on the back of a sterling campaign in his debut season in the league.

Panatinaikos was on par to clinch the league’s top seed thanks to a league leading record of 18 wins and two losses in 20 games. AEK Athens rank second and Bentil’s former team Peristeri has 13 wins and seven losses in third place.
