Basketballghana.com understands the upcoming Ghana Basketball Awards (GBA) will focus squarely on the 2019 Basketball calendar.
That means athletes, coaches and administrators are to be judged on their performance in events and competitions that run through the aforementioned calendar.
Various leagues in the West African nation including the Kumasi Basketball League, Tema Community Basketball League and Western Basketball Association League are under serious consideration.
Other competitions including the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship fall in the above category.
Stakeholders’ performances are to be judged across other Tertiary basketball competitions like the Ghana Technical University Sports Association (GHATUSA).
The Ghana Basketball Awards is likely to return this year after a two year absence since the 2016 edition was held with aplomb at the Best Western Hotel.
Braves of Customs and Accra Technical University (ATU) duo Matilda Gordon and Suleman Abubakar won the Most Valuable Player Award in the Female and Male categories respectively.
GBA is organized by Rite Sports Limited which is the name behind the famous Sprite Ball Championship.
