Basketball Africa League (BAL) Ambassador Luol Deng has called on all people to play various roles in fighting the Corona Virus pandemic.

He delivered the message via the BAL Twitter page recently as the world continues to battle the pandemic that has over three million people infected with the virus.

Deng was appointed Ambassador of the FIBA-NBA project ahead of the inaugural season of the competition earlier in March. However, the start date has been moved until further notice.

With the Corona Virus affecting more people daily, the former Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat star stated:

“We must understand that we are all a part of this and we all have a different role to play. Now we are being told to wash our hands and make sure that we remind others to do the same. So please don’t lose the focus, keep on going this is very very important”.

Deng was named President of the South Sudan Basketball Federation in 2019 after over a decade’s worth of experience in the NBA. He was a two time NBA All Star.
