Tema Community Basketball League outfit Spintex Knights has made a major move ahead of the start of the 2020 season by naming a new Coach.
The team has replaced Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi with Thomas Amediku with the announcement made over this past weekend in the face of uncertainty over the start of the new season.
The 2020 Tema League was scheduled to commence later this month but that is up in the air as Ghana continues to observe a ban on social gatherings due to the spread of the Corona Virus. At the time of writing, over 2000 cases of infection had been recorded.
Dr. Opoku-Antwi played an important role in Knights run to the Finals in the team’s debut campaign in the league but lost to Nungua Coldstore. The title was Coldstore’s third four years.
Amediku featured in the 2019 season as a player for Tema Community 4 and Coaches Adenta TUSK in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II.
The shakeup in the technical department is a clear sign Knights is ready to make another run for the title.
