Ghanaian-Italian Small Forward Awudu Abass is a top trade target for Italian Serie A Basketball League side Virtus Bologna Basketballghana.com gathers.
Abass is with Germani Brescia and has been in top form for the team since signing for the team last season and generated trade chatter prior to this season with the likes of Munich Basketball interested in him.
According to Basketballinside.com, the 27 year old aims to take advantage of Abass’ contract situation with Brescia with the player’s contract due to run out at the end of the season.
Basketballghana.com understands Bologna has arranged a three year deal for the former Olimpio Milano player who won the league title in 2018.
Abass who also plays the Shooting Guard position is averaging 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 21 games this season. He is also averaging 27.8 minutes per game.
The league has been suspended due to the Corona Virus outbreak and its return is still to be decided with Italy being one of the worst hit countries in the world.
Abass was born to a Ghanaian father in Italy and played for Italy at the 2019 World Cup. Brescia ranks third in the 17 game league with 14 wins in 21 games while Bologna leads the league with 18 wins in 20 games.
