There are 566 confirmed cases of infections in Ghana at the time of writing and the suspension of basketball and other sports events is a preventive measure to stop the spread of the Virus.

The GSP League was mid way through the 2019-2020 season while the Western League was at the final stages and the ABL 2020 season had just commenced.
