Accra Basketball League (ABL) Director Alex Kukula has stated present day players are more athletic than those who preceded them.
He made this statement in a Question and Answer session recently with the League observing a suspension due to a ban on social gatherings in Ghana due to the spread of the Corona Virus pandemic.
The former player touched on an array of issues regarding the sport in Ghana especially on ways to improve basketball in the country.
Answering a question on the difference between the way basketball is being played today and the way it was played a few decades ago, Kukula stated:
“I don’t see much difference in how the game was played then. The bit of difference I see is in our time it was mostly basic because we didn’t have the privilege of watching, being influenced by the NBA so we played the game with the basics…players now are more athletic”.
The ABL resumption date is still unclear as the suspension has been extended by two weeks at the time of writing.
