Tema Youth (white) v Warriors in a Division I matchup.

Ghanaian Basketball Coaches Emmanuel “Rubberman” Quaye and Emmanuel Essel “Ghanaaar” Worbil have prioritized defense over offense when quizzed about what wins a game for them.

Basketballghana.com was privy to the Question and Answer session which featured the veteran trainers earlier this week with basketball competitions suspended until further notice due to the spread of the Corona Virus. As at the time of writing, there are 378 confirmed cases of infection in Ghana.

Coach Quaye picked defense and Coach Worbil did same and added “when you play good defense, the offense comes by itself”.

Both men have made successful transitions to coaching after distinguished playing careers with Coach Quaye leading the Braves of Customs Female Team to multiple Accra Basketball League (ABL) titles. He has led Tema Youth to several wins in the Men’s Division.
