Coach Emmanuel Quaye trains youngsters in Tema on Saturday mornings.

Tema Youth Basketball Coach Emmanuel “Rubberman” Quaye has sounded impacting the next generation as the main reason behind the club’s formation Basketballghana.com can confirm.

He made the statement in a Question and Answer session with the veteran Coach who had an extensive playing career on the Ghanaian scene before transitioning to the sidelines.

Tema Youth was set up in 2003 and has consistently challenged for Ghana’s premier club basketball competition-Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I- title.

“Everybody has to take stock of his life…after everybody has talked about what you did (as a player) what have you done for the social community what have you done for some of the guys who were playing basketball… and I decided that with that enthusiasm, we should” he said.

Coach Quaye also runs a clinic weekly at the Team Community 4 Court where he and members of the Tema Youth Club train young individuals.

Aside Tema Youth, Coach Quaye leads Braves of Customs Women’s Team.
