Rutgers University Men’s Basketball Team Point Guard Paul Mulcahy has heaped praise on Ghaian born England Under 20 Small Forward Akwasi Yeboah.
First year player Mucalhy had good things to say Yeboah who played his fourth season in College basketball in the just ended campaign.
Yeboah was recently honoured with the Sportsmanship Award in the Big Ten Conference; teammates Ron Baker Jr. and Geo Baker were named in the All Big Ten Conference Team.
Speaking to The Daily Targum, Mulcahy recognized the immense leadership skills Yeboah brought to the program in first run with the team after three years at Stony Brook University.
“He’s one of the best leaders I’ve ever been around. Akwasi is one of my favorite teammates ever…He’s a better person than he is basketball player. He looks out for me on and off the court, I really appreciate him and I am really proud for him” Mulcahy said.
Yeboah averaged 9.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in 23.8 minutes and helped Rutgers clinch 18 home wins and progress to the postseason before the postseason was cancelled over the spread of the Corona Virus. Rutgers was set to play St. Mary’s University.
