Basketball Africa League (BAL) President Amadou Gallo Fall has expressed his immense disappointment over the failure to launch the league.

The BAL was expected to start on March 13 in Dakar, Senegal with more games to be played on March 21 in Monastir, Tunisia but had to be cancelled because of the rapid spread of the Corona Virus.

The virus has affected the world and the world of sports has been hit hard especially with several governments banning social gatherings.

Basketball has also been affected by the changes as several leagues including the NBA, EuroLeague, GSP League and competitions including the UPAC have been suspended.

Speaking on the BAL’s official Twitter page, Fall advised all to observe preventive measures including consistently washing hands under running water.

“I am disappointed we were not able to launch our league as initially planned earlier this month. I look forward to launch the BAL at a future date” Fall said.

There are more than 700 confirmed cases of Corona Virus infections in Africa with 23 in Ghana.
