Defending Champions of the GSP Basketball League, Young Boys, remain in pole position to retain the league title thanks to its winning ways.
Last season’s title winners rounded off an important week prior to the league’s suspension due to the spread of the Corona Virus in Ghana. The league has been suspended at least for month in relation to a ban on all social gatherings including sporting activities.
Young Boys bagged a 35-25 win over LIR Royals in Week 9 of the 2019-2020 campaign to stretch its winning run to nine wins in nine outings.
Close rival and former league champions Suncity Braves fell behind in the title race as the team lost 24-25 to Sunyani Technical University in the biggest shock of the round.
The win is STU’s third of the season in nine appearances; Braves on the other hand, suffered its second loss of the season but remain in second place.
Techiman Merchants beat Desert Rabbits 39-37 while CUCG Saints topped West Siders 44-35. Below is a full breakdown of the standings:
