Bentil celebrates a basket against Barcelona in the EuroLeague last season with Calathes in background

Ghana Forward Ben Bentil won’t be in action for his Greek side Panathinaikos for awhile after news emerged the rest of the 2019-2020 EuroLeague Basketball season has been put on hold.

The announcement was made recently in the wake up of the spread of the Corona Virus that has hit Europe hard and affected basketball and all sports all over the world.

Panathinaikos was set to play Turkish Giant Fenerbache but that game has been called off and a new date is yet to be determined.

Bentil’s team was in need of a win against Fenerbache to edge closer to qualification to the postseason of the European championship after dropping games to Barcelona, Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow.

After a slow and shaky start to life in the EuroLeague, Sekondi native Bentil has had a good run in recent outing s and drew praise from Rick Pitino after a good showing Barcelona.

The 6 foot 8 inch player is the first Ghana born player to play in the NBA.
