University of Cape Coast (UCC) Men’s Basketball Team had an easy run out against University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) but is set to face a tougher task in its next game at the ongoing Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship in Zone 2.
UCC is hosting the annual competition and walked out with a dominant 60-29 win over UMaT in the opening game of Zone 2. It was a wire to wire win for the host team.
UMaT was no match for UCC but against defending champions Takoradi Technical University (TTU), their task is sure to get tougher with the latter winning the zone in two straight years.
TTU also made it to the final of the 2019 edition of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament but lost 42-47 to eventual champions University of Ghana (UG).
This is UCC’s first run in the competition since 2017 and ended in second place at the GUSA Games played earlier in January this year.
The 2020 UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank, MTN and Decathlon.
