Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has successfully defended its Zone 2 title of the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
TTU beat University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) 49-25 in the final game of the zonal competition held earlier today at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) plush Gymnasium.
The win was TTU’s second straight win in the zone after bagging a crucial 33-31 win over UCC in its opening encounter which pretty much set the team up for a big win against the minnows of the Zone.
TTU’s final game was pretty much a dunk fest for Center Mustapha Ahmed who thrilled fans with athletic plays around the rim.
Elijah Mensah and Worlali Darabor bagged three point shots earlier on in the contest for UMaT as TTU led 20-16 at half time; TTU extended its lead to 42-21 at the end of the third quarter.
TTU Guard Ibrahim Jaffaro won the Most Valuable Player Award.
The 2020 UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank, MTN and Decathlon.
