University of Cape Coast (UCC) Men’s Basketball Team is really prepared for the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship according to Public Relations Officer of the institution’s Student Representative Council (SRC) Fidel Osei.
He made this statement in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com prior to the start of this year’s UPAC Zone 2 competition.
Games in the Zone are to be played on Saturday, March 14 at UCC’s modern Gymnasium with four teams to battle for the crown and a place at the national stage of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament.
UCC plays defending zonal champions Takoradi Technical University (TTU), University of Education-Winneba (UEW) and University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) this weekend.
Ahead of game day, Osei was confident about his team’s chances of progressing from the group and competing in Accra from April 16 to April 18 at the national level.
“Our basketball team has developed over the years because at the just ended GUSA, we almost won it but we were second…The team is really prepared and the team is very strong and we are very hopeful that the team can really do well” he said.
The 2020 UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank, MTN and Decathlon.
