Basketballghana.com can confirm the opening round of games in the 2020 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Season has been called off.
The reason behind the postponement is rainfall at the Lebanon House Court venue on Wednesday, March 11; other parts of Ghana’s capital, Accra were affected by the rains.
The blockbuster pair of games involving defending league champions in the Women’s Division and Men’s Division I have since been moved to take place later tonight.
Braves of Customs grand matchup against Adenta Leopards takes place at 19:00 GMT at the aforementioned venue. The teams clashed in last year’s Finals with Braves clinching the title thanks to a 2-1 series win.
In the Women’s Division, back to back league champions Ghana Police Service play arch rival Braves of Customs at 17:00 GMT at the same venue.
There a lot of high expectations for this season’s competition following a successful 2019 campaign that had teams elevate their play in the newly introduced playoff format.
10 teams will compete in the Men’s Division I this season with eight teams in the Women’s Division.
