The 2019-2020 GSP Basketball League season resumed after an almost three month break at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Court over this past weekend.
Week 7 and Week 8 games were played at the venue on Friday, March 6, Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 respectively but defending champions Young Boys remain unbeaten after back to back games.
The team beat Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints 47-38 and recorded a 31-26 win over Techiman Merchants in the two outings.
2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship participants-STU and CUCG-had mixed to poor outings.
Home side STU lost 35-37 to CUCG and 26-31 to Desert Rabbits while CUCG had the two point win over arch rival STU but flamed out against last year’s league champions.
Bottom side LIR provided a low moment in the busy weekend by forfeiting its matchup against Techiman Merchants; the former has just a win in eight games this season.
