Radford University College has won the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Zone One Basketballghana.com can confirm.
The Legon based University won the title thanks to a 46-31 win over All Nations University College in the deciding game with a 15 point margin.
All Nations had its moments in the contest when Radford eased off after holding a 30-16 first half lead and good plays from hard driving Forward Philip Barley.
Unlike its previous contest against Koforidua Technical University, All Nations bigs Muhtar Hafiz and Aziz Mutawakil were no match for Radford’s bruising Center Mubarak Alhassan who dominated the boards again.
Forward/Guard Godwin Tetteh was named Most Valuable Player for his standout efforts throughout the competition that took place at the Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary.
Radford’s qualification is the team’s second in a row after winning Zone Seven in the 2019 edition; the contest moves to Zone 2 at the University of Cape Coast.
The 2020 UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank, Decathlon and MTN.
