All Nations v KTU (white)

Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has missed out on progressing to the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship national stage.

The team suffered back to back losses in Zone One of this year’s edition of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament; Zone One games this year took place at the Pope John Senior High School in Koforidua.

KTU won the 2019 Zonal title but has failed to defend its title after losing 25-43 to Radford University College and losing 22-27 to All Nations University College.

KTU started out brightly in its opening game against Radford University and trailed 22-27 at the end of the third quarter before losing by 18 points.

In contrasting fashion, KTU started out poorly against All Nations but fought hard to trail 22-24 with three minutes left to play in the final quarter.

Radford University and All Nations University will compete for the zonal title and the chance to play at the national stage. The 2020 UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank, Decathlon and MTN.
