The depth of competition in Zone One has deepened for the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship following the inclusion of Radford University College.

Radford was drafted into the zone due to avoid scheduling clashes with its participation in the Private Universities Sports Association Games later this month.

The team will battle Koforidua Technical University, All Nations University College and Wisconsin International University College on Saturday, March 7 at the Pope John Senior High School.

Radford is the reigning PUSAG Champion and is sure to test defending UPAC Zone One Champion Koforidua Technical. All Nations University is a serious contender after winning the zone in 2018.

University of Ghana (UG) has won Ghana’s biggest tertiary Basketball competition-UPAC- in four straight years and is the defending champion.

32 teams are competing in this year’s UPAC in eight zones with four teams in each zone; the zonal winners will compete in Ghana’s capital, Accra for the national trophy from April 16 to 18.

The 2020 UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank, Decathlon and MTN.
