Radford University College continues to prepare for the upcoming 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Zone One games on Saturday, March 7.

The Pope John Senior High School will host the zonal competition this weekend with Wisconsin International University College, All Nations University College and Koforidua Technical University set to compete against Radford.

Earlier today, Radford University played a friendly contest against Reformers at the Prisons Court in Cantonments; Reformers lost 70-74 in a fairly entertaining and competitive game.

Reformers are preparing for the 2020 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I season.

The Coach Ato Sam led Radford team held a 32-29 first half lead and maintained its lead through the rest of the contest; Radford led 47-45 at the end of the third quarter.

Radford aims to qualify to the national championship for the second year in a row after making it out of Zone 7 in last year’s edition.

University of Ghana (UG) is the defending champion and has won four titles in a row since 2016. The 2020 UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank, Decathlon and MTN and organized by Rite Sports Limited.
