University of Ghana (UG) is a hot spot for hosting sports competitions in Ghana with the country’s premier university on schedule to host three top competitions this year.
In January, UG hosted the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games and is set to host the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship later in April.
Basketballghana.com gathers the University will host the Private Universities Sports Association Games (PUSAG) in latter March and early April.
UG’s facilities particularly its pair of basketball courts are a major attraction to prospective organizers; the facilities were upgraded ahead of the GUSA Games with lights provided at the venue.
Hosting the 2020 UPAC would be UG’s seventh time hosting the most prestigious tertiary basketball competition in Ghana that has been the back drop to immense games between UG and arch rival Accra Technical University.
The 2020 UPAC commences on March 7 at the Pope John Senior High School in Koforidua; 32 institutions will compete in this year’s tournament and are to be divided into eight zones.
