Team UG won the 2019 UPAC edition

Basketballghana.com can confirm the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Press Conference has been moved.

The Press Conference was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 3 at the De’lish Restaurant in Ghana’s capital, Accra but has been moved to Wednesday, March 4. The location however remains unchanged.

The event doubles as the official launch of the seventh edition of the West African nation’s biggest tertiary basketball competition.

Teams representing tertiary institutions in Ghana are eligible to compete; coaches and captains of the various teams are expected to be present for the presser.

32 institutions will compete in the 2020 UPAC in eight zones across the country with four teams in each zone. The zonal winners progress to the national championship.

University of Ghana (UG) are the reigning champions and most successful team in the competition after winning four straight titles since 2016.

UG archrival Accra Technical University (ATU) are the only team to win the tournament after bagging wins in 2011 and 2015.
