Basketballghana.com can confirm registration of teams for the 2020 Accra Basketball League (ABL) season starts today at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

The registration exercise starts today and is set to end on Saturday, March 7 with prospective teams expected to satisfy all requirements before the closing date.

A meeting was held recently between members of the league boards and representatives of teams at the same venue to acquaint both parties on matters related to the competition.

The ABL is Ghana’s longest running basketball league and only recognized league internationally despite its status as an amateur league over the years.

Last season, Braves of Customs and Ghana Police Service won the Benjamin Baafi and Matthias Ocloo Trophies in the Men’s Division I and Women’s Division respectively. Both teams won the 2018 edition.

University of Ghana (UG) triumphed in the Men’s Division II in their debut season in the league; the University’s Women’s Team has competed in the league in prior seasons.

The league is keen on getting a major sponsorship package.
