The 2019 Tema Community Basketball League season has come to an end with Nungua Coldstore beating Spintex Knights 93-80 in Game 2 to win the title.

The title is Coldstore’s third in the four year history of the competition and marks Nungua as the first team to win back to back league trophies.

The 2019 season had an expanded roster of 12 (up from 10) in 2018 with a deeper pool of players than previous years which translated into improved play from all competing teams.

In the aftermath of an exciting season, here is the list of players who make Basketballghana.com’s All Tema League First Team.

Joel Tham (Point Guard/ Nungua Coldstore) – Deservedly, Tham won the Most Valuable Player Award after consistently producing for the title winning team in the regular season and standing out in the Post season.

Kontor Appiah (Shooting Guard/ Spintex Knights)-The former Coldstore Guard missed out on winning back to back titles but his impressive performances deserves a place in the First Team.

Thomas Amediku (Small Forward/ Community 4)-sharp shooting skills kept his side in games and won games in the regular season and playoffs first round.

Samuel Abbey (Power Forward/ Spintex Knights)-largely struggled against Coldstore in the Finals but proved a livewire scorer on strong drives, cuts to the baskets and lethal jump shots.

Enoch Borsah (Center/ Power Forward-Tema Rockets)–  a big reason behind Rockets rise from the doldrums to a title contender with strong inside presence and play.

  1. great write up. keep it going. as the sport gains much more recognition, names such as yours can never be omitted. ??

great season it was in aLL perspectives, we pray the next comes out even better.

i just think we couLd have done better with the photos, if aLL couLd conform to the backdrop & format as that of JoeL’s. some of them are even making free ads for brands that didn’t sponsor the League.

concerning footages, is there provision for wiLLing pLayers, teams, coaches, refs, stakehoLders etc to reach out for the League games for entertainment & aLso in identifying & correcting any wrongs done in Lieu of next season?
    ..my two cents?
