Panathinaikos played out the only matchup in the EuroLeague Basketball Championship on Monday, February 24 in Madrid that ended in a loss.
The Greek Giant lost 78-96 to the Spanish side marking the former’s second loss in two games; prior to the matchup, Panathinaikos lost 81-92 to Barcelona.
Ghana Forward Ben Bentil competed in the game but from the bench for Panathinaikos and registered two points and two rebounds in just 7:25 minutes.
Bentil had started games recently in the competition and drew a lot of praise from Coach Rick Pitino after his performance against Barcelona.
However against Real, Bentil had a tough time staying out of foul trouble as he was hit with four fouls in his limited time on the court.
Veteran Point Guard Nick Calathes top scored for Panathinaikos with 13 points, six assists and four rebounds with three other starters including Jimmer Fredette adding 13 points apiece.
Panathinaikos next matchup in Europe is a derby against local rival Olympiacos on March 3.
