Ghanaian pair Joel Mensah and Nathan Mensah did not participate in San Diego State University Men’s Basketball game against University of Las Vegas, Nevada earlier this morning.
The front court duo missed a 63-66 San Diego loss to UNLV which ended the former’s 26 game winning streak in the 2019-2020 US Men’s College Basketball Regular Season.
Both players’ absences are injury related with Nathan battling a respiratory issue for well over a month and Joel battling back spasms since the turn of the year and has played very few minutes when activated to play.
The pair play the Power Forward and Center positions are in their second year with the Aztecs and were expected to improve on their promising first year.
Nathan Mensah is reportedly close to a full recovery and could feature in the NCAA Tournament (playoffs) next month. He has been given an “outside chance” to play again this season.
San Diego has two more games left on the schedule; the team plays Colorado State University on Wednesday, February 26 and Nevada on Sunday, March 1.
The Aztecs were the last remaining team with an unbeaten record.
