Basketballghana.com can confirm representatives from the various tertiary sects have been included in the five man team tasked to tackle eligibility issues in the upcoming UPAC Basketball Championship.
The 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship is set to commence on March 7 with 32 institutions due to compete.
The upcoming UPAC is the seventh edition of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition with the tournament running annually since 2015.
However, the competition has been plagued by matters on eligibility of student athletes who participate in the tournament and as a result, UPAC organizers Rite Sports Limited have set up a team to check such issues.
The five man team is made up of a representative from the Private University sect, Public University sect and Polytechnics/Technical Universities sect.
Ghana Basketball Association Vice President Iddi Ntenga and Rite Sports CEO Yaw Sakyi Afari complete the team Basketballghana.com can confirm.
University of Ghana (UG) are defending champions and are the most successful team in the competition’s history.
