Organizing Team of the “I Stand with Gerald” program is acknowledging the massive support that ensured Sunday’s program to raise leukemia awareness and raise funds for Gerald Sappor was successful.

The event that had a hanful of basketball teams compete, took place at the University of Ghana (UG) Main Court on February 9 in honour of Nungua Coldstore Power Forward Sappor who has been diagnosed with leukemia.

A host of people turned up at the event with Actor/Politician John Dumelo as the Guest Speaker; Actress Nikki Samonas and Media Personality Yaw Sakyi Afari graced the occasion.

26, 179.90 Ghana Cedis ($4,879.86) was raised at the event to fund Sappor’s treatment; Basketballghana.com understands the amount excludes pledges made.

The organizing team led by Nungua Warehouse Ghana Limited Chief Operating Officer Wendell Otoo have reached out to recognize the immense effort put in by team members and stakeholders in Ghana’s basketball fraternity.

Accra Basketball League Executives, After 7 Basketball Club, Tema Shepherds Basketball Club, Kwame Boamah Djan, Prince Owusu-Anning, Richard Dankwah, Kenneth Caesar, Patrick Adaklumegah and Dr. Opoku-Antwi were acknowledged.

Albert Owusu, Michael Agyarko-Nti, Tindana Suh-Poutim, Carl Dugbartey, Kweku Arhin Twene, Simon Ahiabor and Nii Martey were equally praised.
