Headliner of Ghana’s First ever All Female Basketball Camp, Angel McCoughtry, has officially joined La Vegas Aces as a free agent in the WNBA.

She joins the Aces after a decade long run with Atlanta Dream who picked her with the number one overall pick in the 2009 WNBA Draft.

In the aftermath of her signing on the first day of free agency, Basketballghana.com can confirm the veteran Forward has been given a two year max deal with the Aces.

WNBA Insider Gabe Ibrahim revealed the details of the contract that is fully protected for the 2020 and 2021 seasons respectively.

In the upcoming 2020 season, McCoughtry is to be paid $185,000 and in 2021, she is to be paid $190,500 by the Aces. The Los Angeles Sparks were reportedly interested in McCoughtry but were wary of protecting her salary.

McCoughtry is a two time Olympic gold medal winner with the US and a five time WNBA All Star; she visited Ghana twice last year.
