Beaten Playoff semifinalists in the Tema Community Basketball League, Tema Community 4 and Tema Rockets, will compete for the chance to win the league’s Bronze Medal Basketballghana.com can confirm.
The news was released by the league board in the aftermath of the semifinal series in the ongoing postseason both teams are involved.
Rockets lost 38-56 to Nungua Coldstore to miss out on its first ever finals appearance with Spintex Knights progressing to its first thanks to two straight wins over Tema Community 4.
C4 and Rockets performed well in the regular season and progressed from the first round of qualifiers at the expense of Tema Wildcats and Tema Community 2 respectively.
However, both came unstuck in the semifinals as former league champions Community 4 got swept by Knights including a 37-48 loss in Game One.
Despite taking the series lead via a 46-42 win in Game One, Rockets lost its way in the subsequent games to lose in Games 2 and 3 to two time league winners Coldstore.
The chance to end the season on a medal winning note is up for grabs.
