Nungua Coldstore has recorded another big win over Tema Rockets in the semifinals series of the Tema Community Basketball League Playoffs.
Coldstore beat Rockets 56-38 earlier tonight at the Tema Community 4 Court in Game 3 of the series to progress to the finals. The team is scheduled to play Spintex Knights in a fortnight at the same venue.
Defending Champions Coldstore won the series (2-1) after overcoming a 42-46 loss in Game One to score a dominant 71-43 win in Game 2.
The early exchanges highlighted Nungua’s depth of scorers as Emmanuel Wolff, Joel Tham, Kwaku Arhin Twene scored for the team with Rockets Center Baba Ibrahim bagging a pair of jumpers and Enoch Borsah hitting a three point shot.
The highlight moment early on in the game came via a strong dunk inside the paint from Coldstore Forward Kwame Boamah Djan who got fouled in the process.
A pair of three point shots from Emmanuel Wolff and one from Jonathan Walker in the second quarter put Nungua ahead 38-16 and set the team up for the big win.
Rockets didn’t help matters by turning the ball over on multiple occasions and giving up offensive rebounds to Coldstore.
Prior to the game, a minute of silence was observed to honour basketball legend Kobe Bryant who passed away exactly a week ago in a helicopter crash with nine others including his daughter Gianna.
