Spintex Knights Basketball Club has qualified to the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League Finals; this is the team’s first final appearance.
Knights beat Tema Community 4 53-40 to sweep the series after bagging a 48-37 win in Game One of the series little over a week ago.
However, Knights had to do it without the services of Shooting Guards Benjamin Omari and Elvis Pobi-Siaw in the series clinching win.
Omari is nursing an ankle injury he suffered playing in the 2020 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games for University of Education-Winneba (UEW).
Pobi-Siaw was present for Game One but played the role of an Assistant Coach over the home side; this is Spintex Knights debut season in the league but has a roster filled with veteran players.
Omari is one of the veteran players and was named Most Valuable Player in the 2018 League; the lanky Guard played for Tema Heat who lost to Nungua Coldstore in the finals.
Knights play the winner of the Coldstore-Tema Rockets series.
