In its debut season in the Tema Community Basketball League, Spintex Knights will compete in the Finals Series for a chance to win the league title.

Knights overcame a stubborn Tema Community 4 team in the semifinal series of the best of three game playoff series to move to the last stage of the tournament.

Spintex beat C4 53-40 in Game 2 of the series after bagging a 48-37 win in Game One; Knights sealed progression to the finals without Guards Benjamin Omari and Elvis Pobi-Siaw.

Samuel Abbey was a key figure behind Game 2’s win thanks to his scoring output which came from hitting jump shots and a highlight dunk.

Spintex got valuable contribution from starting Point Guard Kontor Appiah; Bashiru Abdul and Fred Asante came off the bench and delivered solid performances.

Bashiru who played at the Africa Basketball Festival All Star Game for Tema scored eight points in the third quarter while Asante scored on drives and assisted Abbey’s big dunk.

Despite competing in the league for the first time, Knights roster is loaded with veteran players; the team plays the winner of the Nungua Coldstore-Tema Rockets series.
