Multiple Paralympic Games Athlete Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe has pointed wheelchair basketball as the sport he loves to compete in by calling it his “most favorite sport”.

In an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com at the Accra Sports Stadium, Nkegbe stated this as he prepares to compete in the 2020 Paralympic Games set to take place in Tokyo, Japan from August 25 to September 6.

The versatile Nkegbe has qualified to participate in the 100 meter sprint competition in Tokyo and has experience competing in wheelchair cycling, wheelchair marathon and wheelchair tennis.

“I love wheelchair basketball because that’s where my talent shown first that’s where I graduated before becoming the para-athlete Botsyo Nkegbe everybody knows. Even though I do multiple sports…I have been a wheelchair racer but I still love the wheelchair basketball” he said.

In wheelchair basketball, Nkegbe has helped the hitherto Brong Ahafo Region dominate the wheelchair basketball landscape in Ghana over the years including winning gold at the 2017 National Unity Games held in Kumasi.
