The return of Coach Emmanuel “Rubberman” Quaye to Tema Community 4’s bench proved not enough to prevent the team’s exit from the ongoing Tema Community Basketball League Playoffs.
C4 lost 40-53 in Game 2 of the semifinal series against Spintex Knights this past weekend at C4’s court; Knights recorded a 48-37 win in Game 1.
Coach Quaye wasn’t present to lead the 2017 League Champions in the first losses to Knights; the team didn’t provide any official information regarding his absence.
However, his return yielded good returns early as the game ended 11-11 at the end of the first quarter but C4 couldn’t stay close to Knights for the rest of the contest.
That was down to the home side’s inability to hit shots from all spots on the court including point blank misses on easy layups.
The team’s exit means C4 has failed to progress to the League finals since winning the title in 2017 at the expense of Ashaiman Lions.
