The third quarter of the Team Community Basketball League Semifinal Playoff game between Nungua Coldstore and Tema Rockets was played out bizarrely.
As news trickled about the tragic passing of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, a certain hush fell on the court as fans and players alike reacted in disbelief.
The game still went on as planned and ended as planned but some players could be seen going through the motions as the news was confirmed.
Coldstore Shooting Guard Emmanuel Wolff-a big fan of Bryant- was speechless and looked on from the bench as his team beat Rockets 71-43 to stay in contention for a place in the League Finals.
The mood was pretty much the same for a lot of folks gathered at the venue when the game concluded. Bryant passed away earlier today after a helicopter crash claimed his and nine other lives including his daughter Gianna Bryant.
Coldstore plays Rockets in the deciding Game 3 on Sunday, February 2 at the same at the Tema Community 4 Court.
Spintex Knights beat Tema C4 53-40 to qualify to the finals.
