For the third consecutive year, Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James will face off as team captains in the All-Star Game.
LeBron James is 2-0 as a captain against Antetokounmpo since the NBA changed the All-Star game format in 2018, and he picked up the MVP award that year.
The 10 starters were determined by a mix of fan voting, player voting and media voting. NBA coaches will determine the seven reserve players from each conference, which will be announced on January 30th. LeBron and Giannis will make their picks in the All-Star Draft on February 6th (7:00 p.m. ET, TNT). Team captains are allowed to select any of the players in the All-Star pool, regardless of conference.
Lakers coach Frank Vogel and the Lakers’ staff will serve as the coaching staff for Team LeBron in 2020, while Team Giannis will be coached by the staff from the Eastern Conference team with the best record through February 2nd. Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer is ineligible to coach Team Giannis, as he coached an All-Star team last year.
